#OWIP – 10-08-14

This weekend has been a mixed bag, Little Bean’s chickenpox has really gathered strength over the weekend and she has really struggled with it. Friday night she couldn’t get to sleep because she was itching so much and her spots were hurting so she ended up sleeping in our bed with me whilst Hubby was relegated to Curly’s bed for the night (Curly is on holiday with his Mum). The last time I checked the clock before we both finally fell asleep it was 3.30am, we were exhausted!

Saturday unsurprisingly got off to a very slow start and was mainly centered around trying to keep Little Bean comfortable. To try to take her mind off her itching in the afternoon we went over to Ferry Meadows again but this time went for a walk along the Riverside.

Little Bean was definitely not her usual self and tired easily so we ended up having to pop Jelly Bean into the baby carrier so that she could have a ride in the pushchair.

The Beans loved it when we came across some horses, Little Bean and Beanie Boy held the gate open so they could come straight through. Little Bean said she thought the horses were “sooooo beautiful”.

When we came across a field of cows, Beanie Boy watched with interest until one of them decided to do a poop and then he declared they were “disgusting!”.

Towards the end of our walk the Beans were really starting to flag so Daddy kept them moving by setting them the challenge of jumping on Mummy’s head shadow!! Such a nice game don’t you think?

It was great to see a big smile on Little Bean’s face again as we crossed the suspension bridge and Daddy told her she had to stamp her feet to make a big “boooooiiiiiinnnnng” noise. They pretended they were trolls crossing the bridge.

As we neared the end of our walk Jelly Bean kept asking to “get down” so let him walk the last stretch which he loved. Beanie Boy was the perfect big brother staying by his side and holding his hand so that he didn’t trip up.

chickenpox

Jelly Bean was very sweet this morning, Little Bean was laying on our bedroom floor feeling unwell so he crawled down onto the floor beside her and kissed her (he’s going to get chickenpox anyway). I took Little Bean to the out-of-hours GP later as directed by NHS Direct. Unfortunately it was a complete waste of time as he didn’t even examine her, he just told me there was nothing he could do but wait it out.
