Not again!!!

This morning, I woke to a dismal grey day outside but in the house all seemed quite bright and cheerful. Little Bean, despite NOT going to sleep until gone 9pm last night (not at all like her!) and waking just before 7am this morning, was a in really good mood. She was extremely entertaining as she was bouncing on our bed in her PJ’s and a white summer hat she had found in her wardrobe, giggling for England and melting my heart.
And then it happened, an innocent trip to the toilet to be greated by BLOOD! Again!! So just to recap, that’s bleeding at 9 weeks, 25 weeks, 33 weeks and now at 38 weeks! I thought hoped we had seen the last of it and we were on the home straight but NOOOOOO apparently not!
I followed through my usual routine and called the Maternity Unit where I spoke to a really nice midwife who made me feel “heard”. I told her that I was due to see my Midwife this afternoon anyway and so she suggested that I stick to that appointment and let her decide on whether I needed to be seen at the Maternity Unit or not.
Over the next few hours the bleeding slowed down to an eventual stop and I went to my routine appointment. I told my Midwife what had happened and she said “oh dear”. She asked if I was having much pain to which I replied that I’d been having period pains all day but I didn’t feel like I was starting labour. So she said, “ok well I’ll see you in two weeks then”. And that was basically it!
As it stands now, I haven’t had any more bleeding, it definitely wasn’t a “show” and I certainly don’t feel like I’m in labour. I have period pains in my stomach and back and very dull achy legs, I feel tired like I haven’t slept for weeks but that’s about it so I think it will be an early night for me.
Little Bean was in a very odd mood tonight too? She had her bathtime routine as normal with Daddy but then became a little teary when he sat down to read her a story and give her a bottle. She was adamant that she didn’t want Daddy to do it, she wanted Mummy. I sat down to read with her and she clung on to me for dear life before giving me a kiss. I wonder if she senses that things are about to change?
Today’s events did, however, have one positive outcome. It spurred me on to finally pack my hospital bag and get baby’s clothes ironed ready for his arrival. I unpacked the nursery and set it all up ready for him to come home. I’ve just remembered that tomorrow is the 4th anniversary of hubby proposing to me so it would be quite nice if he came tomorrow but then again, Little Bean was born 3 days after our first wedding anniversary so in some ways it would be quite cool if he came 3 days after this anniversary too. Best laid plans and all that, I don’t think he’s in a hurry!!
Night all xx

Thank you, to be fair I had my bags all packed for weeks before LB was born and I STILL managed to forget to pack her some clothes!!! Not a great start to motherhood, but she’s definitely not without clothes now – much to the bank balances dismay!!
