I have never been great at travelling light, I was always the one at the airport getting a bit hot and anxious the numbers on the scales wavered on the weight of my suitcase. Now that we have children to travel with, my packing dilemmas are getting even harder but each time we do go away I find new things which make my life (and packing much easier).
Ok so Beanie Boy isn’t really in need of a high-chair anymore but I do need something to keep him in one place whilst I try to get him to eat his meals and the Totseat is perfect for this. A foldable, washable, squashable highchair which fits on most chairs and takes up less room than a jumper in my suitcase! Here is a great post that will help you find the best travel high chair for you and your little one.
Travel Cot Canopy
Both Little Bean and Beanie Boy have always preferred to sleep in a really dark room, both having blackout blinds at their windows. In the past I have managed to get away with putting blankets up at the windows when we have been on holiday but sometimes that just isn’t practical as we found out when we stayed in a hotel. When the time came to put Beanie Boy to bed, we all needed to sit in darkness until he had gone to sleep. Then I discovered the Travel Cot Canopy from Snoozeshade which is amazing. It’s basically a blackout tent which is big enough to cover all cots, cotbeds and travel cots and folds away into it’s own handy carry bag. Beanie Boy thinks this is great fun and asks to go in his ‘tent’ when he is getting tired.
Innergie Magic Cable Trio
What would we do without our technology?! When we go on holiday we generally take our mobile phones, digital cameras, games consoles, iPod and the iPad but as slim as they all may be, the chargers rarely are so we end up with a bag full of scrambled cables and plugs which aren’t generally that lightweight when all added together. The Innergie Magic Cable Trio is the answer to this problem, a handy USB cable with three different tips including Apple, a mini USB and a Micro USB. The Magic Cable Trio has been very cleverly designed to keep all the tips attached to the cable when not in use so there is no chance of accidentally leaving one at home or misplacing it. We haven’t found any gadget in our house yet that the cable doesn’t fit.
Trunki Ride-on Suitcase
We haven’t as yet had the opportunity to take our children on a foreign holiday where we have to endure airport departure lounges but I’ve heard that the Trunki ride-on are perfect for towing the younger children behind you when their little legs are too tired to walk any further. That doesn’t mean we haven’t had our money’s worth out of our Trunkis. Little Bean and Beanie Boy have one each which they use for sleepovers at Grandparents and to carry all their clothes when we go on holiday. In between times they use them to race each other up and down the hall at home! When I first saw them I assumed they wouldn’t hold very much but I have been very pleasantly surprised by just how much I can get in, far more than I need to for a week’s holiday that’s for sure!
GB Pockit Lightweight Stroller
I always give a little sob when we go away on holiday and I realise that I have to give up my beloved Stokke Xplory Evolution pushchair for the week. As much as I love it there is just no way that it will fit in the boot of my car along with everything else that we need to take and so that is where the GB Pockit Lightweight Stroller comes into play. It offers optimal comfort for all sizes: Infinitely adjustable backrest, Easy folding with 2-step folding mechanism, Swivelling and lockable front wheels, Easy pushing with one hand.
