Well after setting this theme I actually struggled to come up with a song myself, obviously I’ve had quite a few birthdays *ahem* so there would be too many songs to choose from. I don’t want to always refer back to my wedding for songs, I wanted to share something a bit different with you. I would have liked to share a tune from the birth of my children but honestly, I couldn’t tell you what music was playing as I was too busy worrying about pushing a melon out of a whole the size of a pea!
I was going to choose Kung Fu Fighting because that song always reminds me of a friend’s wedding disco, where after a few too many glasses of dizzy juice I decided that I was a fantastic Kung Fu fighter and every time the lyrics ‘ha, hoo ha’ were sung I did a flying kick on the dance floor and nearly took out my friend’s husband!
Then whilst out for a run tonight (yes I did say ‘run’, that’s the second in the space of a week!!) my iPod shuffled itself to Alice Cooper and Poison, not exactly a great running tune but a great tune nonetheless and one which took me back to my cousin N’s 21st birthday party. I’m ashamed to say that I had never actually heard the song prior to that night, yes I know I must have been hibernating under a rock! I think the version that she requested at her party was actually by a Dance Act but I prefer the Alice Cooper version, it’s got to be played at full volume and is great to sing along to. Whenever I hear that song I remember standing on the dance floor at my cousins party dancing and singing at the top of my voice with my two beautiful cousins. We always have fun when we get together but our busy lives mean we don’t get to see each other as much as we would like to. I still love you both to bits though and you’re often in my thoughts xx
What did you choose? You have until next Monday evening to share your Celebration song, the linky will be open all week!
