Lollibop – The Big Bash for Little People takes place in Regent’s Park on the 5th, 6th and 7th August this year. It is essentially a festival for the under 10’s where all the entertainment is geared towards the children. Last year saw the launch of Lollipop, which was such a huge success; this year is tipped to be even bigger and better. Worried that the adults will be bored? Fear not, there will be some great musicians, DJs, cocktails, tea & treatments, a real ale festival bar and, did I mention ladies, market stalls!!! Tickets are limited to 2,500 per day, so if you fancy going, get in there and book now.
Lollibop Preview
On Wednesday, our friend Cafebebe invited us to attend the Lollibob preview in Regent’s Park with them. I had seen various tweets flying around with talk of Lollibop UK, but I have to admit I didn’t have a clue what they were on about, and I hadn’t been nosey enough to read into them. Of course, when Cafebebe sent the invitation text, I typed Lollibop into Google immediately and read around the official website.
Rastamouse, Dick & Dom and more
Just some of the treats in store for the mini-festivalgoers include Rastamouse, Dick & Dom, Baby Loves Disco, The Zingzillas, Horrible Histories, Charlie & Lola, Science Museum Live, Yogabugs and Waybaloo Yogo to name just a few. How about learning to be a DJ or how to make pizza? There really is something for everyone.
High hopes for August
I really hope that the weather is as good in August as it was for us yesterday. We had the most relaxing afternoon possible with beautiful sunshine.
The Bushcraft Company
The children were entertained by The Bushcraft Company who told stories and made bread with them (which was actually quite scrummy!). Award-winning children’s novelist and story writer Anthony McGowan mesmerised the children by reading an excerpt from his book The Bare Bum Gang (it’s a shame Curly wasn’t there as this would have been right up his street!), and no children’s party would be complete without a special guest appearance from the one and only Peppa Pig! There were so many activities I can’t actually remember everything that we did but I would definitely recommend going to the main event in August if the preview was anything to go by.

Exceptions include: Dick & Dom, who will be playing on Friday only; CBeebies presenters will be compèring the main stage for 1 day each: Sid Stone on Friday, Cerrie Burnell on Saturday and Alex Winters on Sunday.
