Last night on the menu: Slow cooked Sausage & Bean Casserole

image In my efforts to become Superwoman I am now the proud owner of a slow cooker. This is a purchase I have been considering for some time, but if I’m honest I have got a clue what to do with it. At the weekend we spotted a bargain, we paid £9 for a 3.5litre slow cooker in our favourite supermarket Tesco and decided this was not a price to be sniffed at. As with any shiny new gadget I couldn’t wait to get started on it so yesterday I searched online for a recipe to catch my eye and came across Sausage & Bean Casserole. I already had most of the ingredients so I just plopped it all into the slow cooker, switched it on and left it to do all the hard work whilst I got on with the housework.

A few hours later our kitchen was filled with the scrummy aroma of a our tasty tea and I am pleased to confirm that it was indeed very yummy. Everyone loved it, even Beanie Boy gave it a try so that was a big thumbs up for Mummy and as there was still a little of the veg and sauce left over, I blended it to make a soup for Hubby’s lunch today – how cool am I?!?!?!?

If you know of any ‘not-to-be-missed’ recipes for the slow cooker then please feel free to leave me a comment/link below and I’ll let you know when I’ve give them a try.
