Kiddy just keep it coming with their great range of Child Safety Car Seats because they want our children to be as safe as possible whilst travelling in cars. The Phoenixfix Pro is a top end model and the latest addition to the Kiddy family which was launched in May this year.
The Phoenixfix Pro is a Group 1 Car seat which means that it is suitable for children from 9 months to 4 years (9-18kg) and provides the ultimate in child safety with the super resilient shock absorbent V2 Honeycomb panelling.
The ‘fix’ in the name refers to the K-connectors, Isofix bars which secure the car seat directly to the car’s structure making it the most secure fit possible. Isofix (International Standard’s Organisation Fix) has been in use since the early 2000’s and was designed to make it easier and safer to ‘latch’ the car seats into the car. The Phoenixfix can be used with or without the K-connectors and is super-easy to fit. The seat comes with two yellow Isofix guides which you pop over the Isofix anchors on your car, next you release the K-connectors and place them through the guides until they click into place on the Isofix anchors. For a final peace of mind, give the car seat a sharp tug and providing you have fitted the seat correctly you will see a green indicator on the side of the K-connector.
The Phoenixfix Pro offers the famous Kiddy Impact Shield which really makes it stand out from all other car seats on the market. The Impact Shield offers maximum safety and comfort. Like most parents I can imagine, when I first saw the Impact Shield I assumed that Beanie Boy would hate it and would get too hot but not so. He loves it so much he actually helps me to put the Impact Shield in place and has been noticeably cooler to touch than when we were using a 5-point safety harness seat. The Impact Shield has handy little clips along the front which are great for securing toys, sunglasses or soothers to keep them within easy reach for your little traveller.
The Impact Shield is really easy to use too, just place the child into the seat and push the Impact Shield into place along the guides on the inside of the seat. Once the shield is in place you use the normal car lap belt across the front of the seat and secure it in place under the red clips on either side of the shield, clip the seat belt into place and then pass the seat belt back through the same red clips and hey presto you’ve done it! The shield has been shaped for comfort to fit over your child’s legs and to fit comfortably around the child in the seat providing them with their very own little safety cell.
If you have a sleepy baby then have no fear, for the Phoenixfix Pro can be reclined, although Beanie Boy chooses to sleep using the Impact Shield as a pillow. As your child grows the head rest can be raised and the cushioned seat can be altered to place your child at the safest height within the seat.
- Seat cushion folded for use from 9-11kg (approx. 9-13 months)
- Seat cushion unfolded for use from 11-13kg (approx 13-18 months)
- Seat cushion removed for use from 13kg (approx 18 months – 4 years)
Finally with a car seat which is built to last you will be pleased to know that the seat covers are removable for machine washing to keep it smelling fresh as a daisy!
Now it is my great pleasure to be able to offer one of my lucky readers a Phoenixfix Pro car seat in this special Kiddy Giveaway.
