Just when things were going well . . .

Doesn’t it always just happen this way, things finally start going in the right direction and then something crops up to put a spanner in the works.

You may recall recently I wrote a post saying that we were buying a new house and needed to find somewhere to live “quick smart”, well last week Hubby and I visited a lovely house to rent until our new house looks a little more than a big muddy hole and we’re pleased to say, finally we have found somewhere to rent.

Then over the weekend, Baby Bean decided that she likes food – pizza, chicken nuggets and fish fingers – ok so it’s not fresh fruit and vegetables as I would like it to be, BUT its a start, a HUGE start for her!

Then yesterday the SPANNER landed in the form of an email from my employer.    For the past year I have been sub-contracted to work for a Software Installations company booking in their installations from home.  All has been going well although I wouldn’t necessarily say I “enjoyed” the work, it was a means to an end.  It gave me the money that I needed to enable me to be a stay-at-home Mum and the hours were to suit me.  Really I had good thing going.  A few weeks ago I wrote to them to ask if my job was secure as I was about sign all the paperwork to buy a new house and that I had found out I was pregnant.  They never got back to me but the work kept coming and the wages kept going in the bank.  But yesterday I received an email saying that they no longer required my services, effective immediately.  So now we are signed into a house purchase which is too far along to turn back on, we are short of my money each month and I’m pregnant so not really a new employer’s dream!  I’m so angry that I gave them a get-out clause a matter of weeks ago and they chose not to say anything.  I have tried calling to speak with them but they send me to voicemail and they have already cancelled my access to the system so I couldn’t even say “good-bye” to work contacts.  Some people are just downright rude!

Oh well, c’est la vie!  I always say when one door closes, another door opens so I’m off to find the open door!

I’m sure you will find an open door quite fast – until then you can always make and sell jewellery!
