Trips to the supermarket are rarely uneventful for me, especially when I have the children with me and yesterday’s trip was no disappointment either. I know for lots of parents the idea of doing their weekly grocery shop with their young children in tow is quite a daunting prospect but the majority of the time for me I quite enjoy it. The children love to help me, Little Bean likes to fetch the items I’m looking for as we walk down each aisle and she in turn passes them to Beanie Boy who drops them into the trolley. Then when we reach the tills they both help me to empty the shopping onto the conveyor belt.
Yesterday as the assistant passed the shopping to me Beanie Boy took it upon himself to tell her what items we were buying. It was a little like something from the Generation Game only there was no cuddly toy in this line-up . . .
Bread – “bed – samich, toast, mine”
Crisps – “kiss, mine”
Bottle of Squash – “duce, mine”
Bananas – “na na, mine”
Baby wipes – “bum bum, poo poo, mine”
Well there you go, the assistant can now sleep soundly at night knowing exactly what baby wipes are for!
