I blame First Response and Johnson’s Baby!

Waaaaay back in May I was invited to attend a screening of the film What to Expect When You’re Expecting as a guest of First Response (think pregnancy tests, ovulation kits etc) and thought it would be a fun evening so why not. On the same day I had also been invited to help judge a competition for Johnson’s Baby where people submitted their favourite videos of their baby’s having fun. I have said it before and I will say it again, I was BORN BROODY! I love babies, always have, always will so spending a couple of hours watching really cute babies cooing and giggling (my favourite sound in the whole world) did nothing to quell my broodiness. During the afternoon Michelle and I hit the shops for a bit of retail therapy before having a lovely meal out and then heading over to the evening’s event. Once we arrived I was pleasantly surprised to find my friend Sarah there with her friend as well as the lovely ladies from Lexis PR. During the evening I joked about how we were all going to be asked to take a Pregnancy Test to the toilets and see who came out with two pink lines to see if the tests really worked. Since none of us were actually trying for a baby we just laughed it off and carried on drinking the yummy Cosmopolitans that had been prepared for us.

We watched the film which had us laughing out loud and yes shedding a few tears too. As we left the event we were each presented with a pink goody bag which contained among other things a pregnancy test and an ovulation kit. We all laughed and said that we wouldn’t be needing those and began thinking of the people we could pass them on to.

Fast forward a few weeks and I had a niggling feeling that something wasn’t quite right with me and then my mind sprang to the pregnancy test which was buried in the back of my wardrobe and tentatively removed it from it’s wrapper and hey presto this was what I saw!
