How to prepare and cook a Turkey

Dare I say it, at the age of 36 years old I STILL have not prepared or cooked a turkey for Christmas dinner!  That’s pretty shameful really don’t you think?  I wouldn’t even know where to begin, I generally cheat and buy a turkey crown but the older I get, the more I feel like I want to do Christmas the traditional way.  Last year I made my very first Christmas cake and it was GORGEOUS!  This year I have made my own Christmas cake again and I soaked the fruit in Amaretto, I cannot wait to eat it, it smells divine!!!  But still that turkey eludes me and I honestly wouldn’t know where to begin . . . in all honesty, I have never even cooked a whole chicken for Sunday lunch, I just buy the breasts.  I want to be one of those Mums who my children turn to in year’s to come and ask me to teach them, I want them to feel inspired by me and so my plan over the next year is become more adept in the kitchen and why not start with a challenge . . . Christmas Dinner!!!!

If, like me, you haven’t got a clue where to start with preparing and cooking your Turkey this Christmas, those clever people at M&S have prepared a video to lead you through the process.  If you follow this video, do remember to come back and let me know how it went.
