Hold the press: I cooked a Very Lazy meal!!
People who know me and who have read my blog for a while will know that I don’t really do cooking. I can cook but I just don’t enjoy it so I leave the kitchen department to Hubby (well except the cleaning!). Every now and then I get a flash of inspiration or perhaps I come down with a fever? I don’t know why, but every now and then I decide to cook a meal. On Monday this week we were celebrating Hubby’s birthday so in my madness wisdom I decided to invite all the family over for a birthday meal and uttered those idiotic words, ‘I’ll cook a meal’. Why, of why, would I do that?
But then, like an angel from above I received an email asking if I would like to review one of the new Very Lazy Cooking Concentrates. They must have read my mind, there was no way I could have said no. I chose to review Posh Sausage Casserole and it arrived just in time. It was so simple to make, I just needed 8 sausages, 1 medium onion and 200ml of water. I browned off the sausages in a pan and then transferred them to an oven proof dish with the onions and concentrate before cooking for 2 minutes, then added the water, gave them a stir and left to cook for over an hour before serving with creamy mashed potato. I can honestly say, it tasted delicious and everyone cleared their plates so I think its fair to say that they enjoyed it.
Other new concentrates in the range include:
- Spicy Caribbean Chicken
- Fragrant Thai Green Curry
- Rich Stroganoff
- Chilli Con Carne
- Creamy Chicken
Not to mention the rest of the amazing Very Lazy range which is available from most major supermarkets.

Well done! I tried some of this at an Asda store demo, and it was lovely.

Thank you – it was really tasty – just got to wait another year until I get the urge to cook again 😉

And super scrummy it was too! I shall DEFO be inviting myself up to dinner again some time VERY soon! Thinking the ‘Spicy Carribean Chicken’ is sounding particularly good! Gonna be watching out for that one!

Hmmmm I get frightened by foods that say ‘spicy’ unless I can have a pot of Greek Yoghurt on standby?

Useful to know . . . they’re all on offer on their site at the moment and MUCH cheaper than ASDA too! Feeling a bulk order coming on! 😉

Thanks so much – we can’t believe that you used our ingredient to cook your ‘once-a-year’ birthday dinner (well we know it’s more than once a year, but still). Thanks for the rave review, so glad you enjoyed the dish and hopefully are timing will be as good when we send you more product!!
Best wishes,
