Have you heard about Hive Active Heating?

I shall hold my hands up right here and now to say that I have never really got to grips with Central Heating controls, well not in my previous homes, this one isn’t quite so bad. I always find it takes ages to program everything in and I rarely remember to change it from one season to the next. Our Central Heating is either ‘on’ or ‘off’, the rest of the time we are either too hot or too cold which is a bit daft really. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, becoming a Mummy has seriously messed with my levels of forgetfulness, meaning I seem to forget EVERYTHING these days. I sometimes think my neighbours must wonder what on earth I am doing as I pull back onto my drive less than 60 seconds since I pulled off the drive as I dash back to pick something up or turn something off.

Well, I have decided that I am obviously not alone in this ‘la-la’ world I live in because companies are getting wise and trying to make our lives as easy as possible. How many times have you gone out for the day and left the heating on thinking the weather is going to get bitterly cold, only to return home to the sun shining and a house like a furnace. No sooner have you walked in the door, than you’re throwing open the windows and letting the heat out and the fresh air in. You might as well just open your purse and throw your money out of the window. Then of course there are the days when you pop out, get carried away having such a good time that you completely lose track of time and return home feeling weary, you just want to slump on the sofa and relax but as you walk through the door, you’re greeted with the icy chill of an empty house. It’s hardly welcoming and homely is it? Especially if you have children who started moaning the moment you walk through the door (or maybe that’s just mine?). Hive Active Heating is the answer to your prayers and it doesn’t matter who your energy supplier is because Hive Active Heating loves everyone! For a one-off fee of £199 including professional installation (or £159 without installation) you will be able to control your heating wherever you are, whatever you are doing! Hive can easily save you up to £150 a year on your energy bills (so it will almost pay for itself in the first year!).

Hard day at work and feeling a bit jaded on the train, no problem just log on to the Hive Active Heating App from your mobile phone, tablet or laptop and your house will be toasty for you the moment you walk in the door. What about when you’re out for a run and you suddenly realise you forgot to put the hot water on for a relaxing soak when you get back, no problem just use the App to get the water heating up and you’ll be ready to jump in the bath in just a few short minutes. We rarely use our Immersion Switch for our hot water system since the time that we flicked the switch to give the hot water a boost and only remembered to switch it off a month later!!! Just imagine how much that little faux-pas cost us!

What’s included?

  • When you buy Hive Active Heating you will be fitted with a sleek new Thermostat which is modern, easy-to-use and allows you to set schedules, turn the heating up or down and even features frost protection to protection you from frozen pipes in the harsh winters we seems to be experiencing.
  • The Hub is a neat little device which plugs into your broadband router allowing your thermostat to connect with the internet and await your commands at home, out and about or even abroad!
  • The Receiver is a modest little device which sits near your boiler allowing the thermostat and the boiler to talk to each other.

Everyone is trying to get a little bit more savvy these days, we all need to save money where we can and reduce our carbon footprint, well Hive Active Heating is just the trick to help you achieve both of those goals. What do you say?
