One of my favourite TV shows growing up was Give Us A Clue, I love a bit of charades because I love guessing games and the state that some people can get themselves into when trying to act out their prompt. Chicken Charades is a fun twist on the classic game of charades because, yes you’ve guessed it . . . you have to act it out with a rubber chicken!! And not just any old chicken let me tell you, it’s a squeaky chicken although I don’t actually know why?!?
What’s in the box?
In the box you will find a headless chicken and the necessary head to make him complete, a numbered dice, a 10 second sand timer, easy to follow instructions and a pack of game cards which are green on one side and red on the other.
How to play
Before play begins you need to decide whether you will be playing from the red or the green side of the cards, although this has no bearing on the difficulty of the prompt. Next you roll the dice and whatever number it lands on, that’s the prompt you have to act out. Simples right! Oh sorry, I forgot to mention the chicken . . .yes you actually have to act out the prompt using the chicken! For some prompts this can be reasonably simple but for others your 10 seconds can be over quicker than you can say chicken!!
Our verdict
This definitely ISN’T a game to play with little people but then again it is aimed at 8+. It makes you wonder how your child’s mind works sometimes with the things that they come out with and likewise, it makes you wonder how your own mind works too! We have had lots of laughs playing this game and I think it may well be one to come out after a few drinks as I’m sure that will make it even more hilarious (and possibly slightly more difficult so we may throw out the sand timer).
