Frock That – Let’s Celebrate Christmas! #ad
Disclaimer: I have been gifted the clothing in this article as part of the Joe Browns Frock That challenge. All words and opinions are my own.
There’s no hiding the fact that the way we celebrate Christmas is going to be very different this year for the majority of people. For those that have had a Christmas party it will have been via Zoom or in my husband’s case a socially distanced Fish and Chip lunch sitting outside at work.
All around the world people are facing a quieter Christmas as restrictions are in place which stop loved ones from travelling or staying overnight. This is certainly the case for us, all of our plans have had to change and the family get-togethers we were looking forward to having all been cancelled. Initially, this caused much sadness but as we have done throughout the rest of 2020, we have evolved. We have come up with new plans so that we can celebrate with our loved ones, apart.
So, do you dress up to celebrate Christmas? I know lots of people stay in their PJs all day and some just wear comfy clothes. For us, Christmas is a day of celebration so we usually dress up on Christmas Day, wear Christmas jumpers on Boxing Day and dress up again for New Year’s Eve and this year we plan to do exactly the same. I was challenged by Joe Browns to find three outfits to see me through this year’s festivities.
What I’ll be wearing on Christmas Day
The Perfect Paisley Dress is a season favourite for Joe Browns because of the flattering shape. It gathers to the side of the waist which is great for disguising a tummy and let’s face it, we all get a little food baby on Christmas Day afternoon!!
What I’ll be wearing on New Year’s Eve
On New Year’s Eve we shall be cranking up the music, singing to the karoake and having a dance with the Beans so it’s bound to get warm. The Evening Florals dress will be perfect with the short sleeves to keep me cool, the gathered waist will keep me looking trim once again and I do love a good floral dress.
What I’ll be wearing on New Year’s Day
Our New Year’s Day usually entails a lovely long walk somewhere out in the fields, on a beach or by a River. This year I am assuming we won’t be able to travel too far afield but I can guarantee one thing, it’s still bound to be a bit chilly. I love a tunic because it can be dressed down with jeans or dressed up with jeggings and boots.
I chose the Festive Sparkles Tunic because I love to wear red over the festive period and this tunic (as the name suggests) has a bit of sparkle in the thread too. The sewn in sleeves are a bonus too as I would usually have to wear a black top underneath for extra warmth.
So what will you be wearing this Christmas?
