Our first time to see Disney On Ice

There are so many things that we would like to take our children to see and to experience, many of which we will never be able to afford with four children but sometimes the opportunity comes knocking on our door thanks to my blog so who are we to turn them down.

Disney On Ice

Just after Christmas, we had the opportunity to take the children to see Disney on Ice which was a first for all of us and one which we were all very excited about. It was a very crisp winter’s day when we made our way down to the O2 Arena in London but the sun was shining and we were all in good spirits.

This was also our first time to visit the O2 Arena, up until now we had only seen it from afar and first impressions were pretty good. There were THOUSANDS of people arriving at the same time as us but we were very impressed by how organised the whole process was. Everyone was checked in quickly and found their seats with ease so that we were all seated ready for the show to begin. Even Jelly Bean was excited although I’m pretty sure he didn’t have a clue what was going on.

Unfortunately, our seats weren’t the best to be able to see the full ‘set’ but beggars can’t be choosers and it didn’t affect our view of the ice rink at all so that was the main thing.

This year’s show was called ‘Dare to Dream’ and featured Mickey and Minnie Mouse as the compeers who introduced us to the stories of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves followed by Rapunzel (Little Bean’s favourite).

The ice skating was amazing, it completely captured your attention (although I did struggle a little when Jelly Bean decided to try to kiss me throughout the show!). It finished with all of the Disney Princesses coming out onto the ice with their Princes all dressed in shimmering white and skating to their own ‘theme tunes’. Little Bean was able to name every single one of them.

We all loved the show and Beanie Boy was quite captivated by Flynn Rider, I think he quite fancies himself as a bit of a ladies’ man!! We finished off our family day out with a scrumptious meal at Chiquitos just outside the O2 Arena and were pleasantly surprised that the menu was priced the same as at home and not extortionate as we expected it to be. It was a truly magical day out for us all.
