Beanie Boy’s next big move!

With only 9 weeks until Jelly Bean’s due date, Hubby and I are finally starting to get a move on with giving Jelly Bean his own space when he arrives.  This isn’t going to be an easy task though, we live in a 4 bedroom house and already have 3 children so if you have already done the math you’ll realise we are 1 bedroom short.  No problems there, 2 of the children will have to share but Little Bean’s room is the only one big enough for sharing so we are going to have to do a major bedroom/children reshuffle meaning they will all get a new room/decor/furniture.  We never like to do things small scale!

Beanie Boy turned 2 in September and I have been toying with moving him into a ‘big boy’s bed’ for some time now but part of me keeps putting it off as I just can’t help but think that he might be a little more trouble than Little Bean was when she moved to a big girl’s bed.  She moved about 6 weeks before her 2nd birthday and was perfect from the first night, she still doesn’t get out of bed now but will call out and wait to be told that it’s ok to get up.  I have a sneaky suspicion that Beanie Boy may be a little less co-operative (but I hope to be proved wrong!!).

Beanie Boy will be sharing Little Bean’s old room with Jelly Bean so we wanted to do the move to big boy bed all at the same time, making it an exciting event for him and he has already been trying out beds which take his fancy.  We would love to be able to get him something really exciting like this Fire Engine bed from bedstar and he has spotted a Pirate Ship bed which he really likes but it depends just how imaginative I can be with the decor plans, especially since I want to make it a nursery/boy’s bedroom.

Do your children share a bedroom?  What tips can you give me on making it work for both of them when they are different ages?

That firetruck bed is super cute. I love the pirate ship bed. I almost did C’s nursery in a really cute pirate theme. I imagine we will do something with pirates in the future in the playroom or bedroom. Super cute kiddo stuff.

I keep putting it off because I worry about making the wrong decision, I find girls rooms really easy because, well I used to be a little girl but I was definitely never a little boy!! 😉
