25/365–What happened to “me” time?

Cumbria June 2010 019

Every so many years I get the “crafting” bug and go all out making things, buying materials and building up a collection – then something happens and I stop for a little while.  Before Christmas I made loads of jewellery for me, for presents and at the request of people who wanted to buy pieces as Christmas gifts.

However, as quickly as I start my craft, I put it away for a week, a month and before I know almost a year can go by with me not picking it up again.  I saw this photograph today of a ring that I made which sits in a box waiting for me to decide what to do with it.  This picture has inspired me though, I love making my jewellery, in fact I love all the crafts that I do – I just need to make time each week to do it again.  When you become a Mum it’s easy to get carried along with daily chores and family routine, its easy to forget yourself and doing the things that you enjoy.  So I am making a pledge to myself, when Little Bean starts pre-school next week – one of those mornings is going to be all about me!  Obviously I will have Beanie Boy but when he’s sleeping I intend to make the most of some ‘me’ time and do the things I enjoy!!

Watch this space, I feel a new page coming up . . .
