007/366 – A pain in the eye!

This is definitely not the most flattering photograph I have ever posted of myself but it has been the topic of my day and so it has become a part of my 366 days and now my project 366.

On Thursday this week after the school run my eye became sore, I didn’t recall anything blowing into my eye but as the day wore on my eye became more and more painful. By the evening I had to go to bed early because my eye was hurting so much and then yesterday I woke up looking like this. My eye felt like it had needles stuck in it and I found bright lights made it feel 10 times worse. I went to Boots to get some eye drops and they suggested that I go to the opticians to get it looked at properly.

The optician had a good look and said that I had a couple of deep scratches on my eyeball and that my upper and lower eyelid were showing signs of an allergic reaction. She gave me some eye drops but when I used them it burned like hell and didn’t seem to make any difference. When I awoke this morning I looked 10 times worse, Hubby even commented that I better not leave the house or people would think he had beaten me (for the record, he most definitely hadn’t!). The pain and swelling became gradually worse as the day wore on and the pain in my face increased too until Hubby insisted on taking me to A&E to get it checked out. We have spent the last few hours in the A&E Department where they carried out more eye tests and examined my face before concluding that I have an eye infection.

Tonight I feel totally exhausted so i’m off to hit the sack and keep my fingers crossed that tomorrow I will look slightly more human and the pain will be gone. Wish me luck!
