A little over a week ago my Mum and I were invited to the Hotter VIP Event at our local store, Queensgate in Peterborough. Walking into Hotter Peterborough is like popping in for a catch-up with your friends. You always receive a warm welcome whether it’s your first time or indeed you have been shopping there for years. Everyone gets the VIP treatment, you won’t get ignored whilst the Assistants talk about what they did at the weekend and that is something which is really important to me. Good Customer Service costs nothing but is absolutely priceless in making your shopping experience a good one.
Flying the flat for Hotter Originals
The store is currently sporting Union Flag bunting which I assumed was in relating to the recent Summer of Olympics but Area Manager James was excited to tell me that Hotter although Hotter have been making shoes in Lancashire for over 60 years and shipping to over 90 Countries, they had to outsource some of their shoe making to Spain which meant longer lead times and higher costs BUT NOW they have their own equipment which means they will make the majority of their shoes in the UK. For the UK buyers this means they will have more shoes available in each size and they will be available sooner. The Hotter Originals are their main focus and I’m the proud owner of a pair of Tan Shake shoes which will be seeing me on the school run sported with jeans, skirts and thick tights throughout the winter. The Shake was first introduced back in 2010 and since then they have made over 460,000 pairs . . . soooooo many happy feet! Check out the other Hotter Originals; Sugar, Tone, Leanne, Whisper, Mystery and Lance for men.
When Autumn/Winter arrive I tend to do a little jump for joy because I am a boot girl and I practically live in them throughout the Winter months. Last year I decided that I needed an ankle boot and a ‘shoe-boot’ style to compliment my wardrobe but alas I never found what I was looking for. Last week at the Hotter VIP Event my prayers were answered as I found both and I am extremely happy with my choices.
The Annette Shoes offer ‘dual fit’ technology which means you can customise the fit of your shoes to your own needs. They have a removable top insole as well as an under sock. To increase the width of the fitting simply remove the top insole and under sock, then replace only the top insole. Great for when you want to wear those super-thick tights with a mini-skirt! The Annette also has soft leather uppers, stretchy inner and outer panels to allow for easy access and foam-cushioned floral linings to pamper your feet.
The Hampton Boot is super comfortable (no kidding, I forgot I was wearing them and nearly left the shop with them still on my feet – whoops). They are a stylish mix of superior quality leather and suede with an attractive buckle strap. My feet are cushioned with underfoot padding, a leather collar, floral fabric lining and a removable leather insole. I CANNOT wait to start styling these up for the Winter, I just need the weather to make it’s mind up.
Hotter VIP Treatment
Yet again, Danielle, the Store Manager had pulled together a bunch of lovely pampering treats for their VIP Customers which included a facial from Claire at Liz Earle, John Lewis; a foot massage from Jade at Lush and hair styling by GHD, John Lewis. Oh and did I mention there was cakes, nibbles and wine – there was!!! They even had chocolate from Thorntons, Danielle and her team really know how to spoil you. The first 40 clients who made a purchase on the evening also received a special Hotter Goody Bag which was full of lovely treats and offers to continue the pampering at home.
Liz Earle at John Lewis
Whilst Mum was busy talking Boots with the Hotter team I took a seat and enjoyed a wonderful relaxing facial from Claire at Liz Earle. I began using Liz Earle a few months ago and LOVE the difference in my skin since I began using the Hot Cloth Cleanse and Polish treatment. Now, back by popular demand they have re-released the fragrance Rose and Lavender, perfect for a bedtime treat. Delicately fragranced with pure Damask rose petal and French high-altitude lavender essential oils it not only restores the skin but the senses too.
GHD at John Lewis
Unfortunately I can’t tell you very much about Natalia from GHD at John Lewis, other than to say she was extremely pretty with the most beautiful hair. I was so busy chatting to everyone else, trying on shoes and being pampered by Claire that Natalia had left before I got a chance to see her so I shall have to pop in to John Lewis to find out more about my favourite hair brand. I have been using GHD since I was a teenager which was *ahem* not really that long ago if you say it fast. GHD offer complimentary styler demonstrations and top tips and tricks to create your perfect hair day. I did see lots of lovely hair styles leaving he Hotter VIP Event, sadly mine was not one of them.
Jade from Lush was offering foot massages to the Hotter VIP customers which seemed to go down a storm. I explained to Jade that whilst I didn’t have time to stop for a massage on the night I would love to pop in and find out more about Lush some other time as I had NEVER set foot in their store since it opened because I assumed they only sold bath bombs and I’m not really a bath kind of girl.
I had a really interesting chat with Jade about what Lush have to offer and she talked me through their range of footcare products which smelt mush less offensive than I expected them to. I particularly liked the Pumice Power which is great for smoothing hardworking skin and is scented with sweet orange oil.
I have since been into Lush for an enjoyable few hours and am now a Lush convert but more about that soon . . .
Getting to grips with The Fane Clinic
Just inside the door to the store I met Adrian from The Fane Clinic in Paston, Peterborough. Not being from Peterborough originally, the name was not one I was familiar with so I asked Adrian to explain a little more. To my delight, I discovered that The Fane Clinic is a team of professional and experienced practitioners offering treatments ranging from Podiatry and Chiropody, Sports Therapy to Rehabilitation and Prevention, Holistic Therapies or Reflexology and Full Body Massage.
Adrian explained that it is now possible to have a Custom Made Orthotic Footbed which can be incorporated into your favourite Hotter sandals and swapped between any Edser recommended styles or Hotter footwear from the same collection.
Adrian showed me a range of the Orthotics they make and explained how each pair is custom made to their client following Biomechanical Analysis assesses their issues and problems. This is EXACTLY what I have been looking for following my many sprained ankles, aches and pains so I’m pleased to report that I shall be working with Adrian very soon to tell you more about The Fane Clinic and will be able to personally share with you the benefit they will hopefully have on my life.
