Review: Tree Fu Tom – Tree Fu Go! On DVD now!!!!!

I have yet to meet a family with young children that doesn’t love Tree Fu Tom.  When we visited our friends in Skegness earlier this summer Little Bean and C were walking along the sea front doing all of their Tree Fu Tom moves, it was certainly a sight to be seen!  I love children’s TV shows that encourage your children to get up and actively join in, not only is it great fun to watch them, it’s nice to see them getting a little bit of exercise without them even noticing they have done it.

One thing which has stood out for me with Tree Fu Tom is how it appeals so well to different ages, Little Bean is 4 years old now and LOVES Tom, we even use Tom as a bribe reward for eating her tea nicely and Beanie Boy is only just 2 and he loves Tom too.  As soon as they hear the music they come running to the TV and join in shouting out the different characters’ names.

Tree Fu Tom is set in Treetopolis, an enchanted world of sprites, bugs and naughty fungi.  A land where movement creates magic, special movements called Tree Fu.  The special sequence of movements have been specially developed from therapeutic techniques to help children with Dyspraxia and to help children at a crucial time in their growth.  As the show starts Tom is an ordinary 8 year old boy, but when he puts on his magic belt and performs his Tree Fu he changes into a tiny but mighty and magical super-hero.  Tom (voiced by David Tennant) joins his friends Twigs and Ariela (voiced by Sophie Aldred) on a series of adventures in this new DVD featuring 7 episodes from the popular series.

Little Bean and Beanie Boy were thrilled to bits when the review copy of the DVD arrived for them to watch, Little Bean’s reaction was “you’re wicked Mummy”.  The DVD went on sale in the shops yesterday at a price of £9.99 for the DVD alone or for a limited time only you can get your hands on a DVD featuring a special limited edition figurine of Tom for just £12.99.

There are also 13 episodes of Tree Fu Tom available for download via itunes priced at £1.19 for HD and £0.99 for SD per episode or HD £10.99 and SD £8.99 for the whole series.  If you were looking for a Christmas present to really get the little ones excited this year then I think you will score major brownie points with this one!
