Excited by the new Lego Friends range

Will children ever tire of Lego?  I don’t think so.  It’s been around certainly for as long as I can remember, it was there at playschool, it was there at school and throughout my growing up.  But as with most things Lego has evolved, yes the bricks are mostly still the same but the box sets and collections are now bigger and better than ever before.  My favourite Lego from childhood was a remote control car which could also be made into a helicopter which I passed on to Curly a few years ago.  Curly has countless collections of Lego at his Mum’s house and a few collections here also.  Recently Little Bean discovered the wonderment of Lego and now begs to have it out the moment that Beanie Boy goes to bed and has already started to earmark a few sets that she would like for Christmas.

Lego Friends Adventure Camper and Emma’s Horse Trailer

Today marks the launch of the new Lego Friends range celebrating the great outdoors.  Lego Friends was launched in December 2011 and was an instant hit so now they have extended it to include exciting themes such as camping, adventure and horse-riding which has really got Little Bean’s pulse racing.

Lego Friends Heartlake Stables and Olivia’s Speedboat

The LEGO Friends story is based on the everyday lives and personalities of five girls, Emma, Olivia, Mia, Andrea and Stephanie, in a fictional hometown called Heartlake City. Each of the Friends characters has a distinct personality and a variety of interests ranging from invention and design to animals and performing arts.

The Lego Friends concept is the first ever which has been designed fully with girls in mind, creating opportunities for role-play and creativity.

Lego Friends Advent Calendar

One item we will definitely be looking to buy for Little Bean this Christmas is the Lego Friends Advent Calendar.  Hubby’s parents have had one for years which Curly has loved every Christmas so it will be nice to have a girlie one for Little Bean to do too.

LEGO has added 9 new products to the existing LEGO Friends range of 14 sets. The new products range from £9.99 to £89.99 and will be available in the UK retailers from August 2012, with the advent calendar launching in September. To find out more about LEGO Friends visit www.legofriends.co.uk.

These sound great! I think I might start to try and introduce these to C now he’s a bit older. We did have duplo a few years ago, but he didn’t take to them. Will certainly be having a look at their range, and hopefully pick some for our christmas list 🙂 x
