Was your midwife truly amazing? Do you feel you couldn’t have done it without him or her? If you felt lucky to have a midwife who went above and beyond their call of duty to help you through every aspect of your pregnancy and labour, there is a way to say “thank you”.

To show them just how much you appreciate their support, you can now nominate them for the JOHNSON’S® Baby Mums’ Midwife of the Year Award – the only national award where mums can put forward their midwife to be recognised for their expertise and support before, during and after birth.

Nominations are open now for the third-annual JOHNSON’S® Baby Mums’ Midwife of the Year Award and mums can nominate their midwife by simply logging on to www.johnsonsbaby.co.uk/midwifeoftheyear to tell us why their midwife  should win.

JOHNSON’S® Baby Mums’ Midwife of the Year 2011, Natalie Carter, was nominated by grateful mum, Samantha, for her role in the birth of baby Olivier. Natalie describes the moment that she found out she was the overall winner, “I was thrilled – I know how challenging and rewarding being a midwife can be and to be recognised in this way is a dream come true. I’m very proud to have been involved and to share the experience with Samantha and the other deserving finalists.”

The JOHNSON’S® Baby Mums’ Midwife of the Year Award is one category within the Royal College of Midwives’ (RCM) Annual Midwifery Awards. The RCM is the UK’s professional organisation led by midwives for midwives and hosts the annual award ceremony to recognise the excellence, innovation and impact of midwifery practice in the UK.  The JOHNSON’S® Baby brand has been involved in celebrating excellence in midwifery through the Awards for a number of years, in its role as a key partner in the Royal College of Midwives’ Alliance programme.

Awww, nice idea! I’d love to nominate my first midwife, but I have no idea what her surname is! I was pretty zonked by the time she started her shift… x

It's always nice to receive comments, go on don't be shy . . .
