Musical Memories – Week 2 – Sizzling Summer

Oops sorry I’m late, the time got away with me today!!  So the theme this week is Sizzling Summer!  What tune takes you back to the summers of old?

For me, in all honesty I could probably quote a whole album’s worth of tunes because there are so many songs which remind me of summer.  But the one which springs to mind instantly is Baby D – Let Me Be Your Fantasy.  I have danced so many times to this tune on my many nights out in Skegness.  It takes me back to long bank holiday weekends, spending the afternoons out in the sunshine eating fish and chips, walking along the promenade and dancing the afternoons and evenings away in the bars of my youth.

It feels like it was only last year but in reality we are talking maybe 15 years ago!!  Where does the time go?  I used to live for my weekends, I couldn’t wait to hit the dance floors and lose myself in the music.  Alcohol was never my motivation, though of course, it did get me on occasion but I was at my happiest on the dance floor.  I was lucky too because Hubby is a lover of music and the dance floor too so when we got together we would go out clubbing at a weekend, just the two of us and have a good old boogie.  But don’t worry, we haven’t hung up our dancing shoes just yet!

What about you?  What memories of summer do you have?

Oh heck, I know the time and the memory I just have to associate a specific song. I have a choice of two.

Love your choice of song, very 90s!

I have linked up 😀 Nice choice on yours. I haven’t been for a night out, but I’m sure the tiles of Skeggy are ones to be reconned with! 🙂

Great song, reminds me of sixth form and dancing the night away with my friends, flirting with boys. Seems like a lifetime ago!

I know, its only when you start thinking back and work out the years that you suddenly start to feel old! 🙁
